Chinese export plate with flowers

This attractive deep plate (saucer dish) is decorated with a central flower medallion surrounded by four large flowers. The rim is decorated with a narrow ornamental band. The reverse is decorated with two simple branches. This plate dates from the beginning of the reign of the Chinese emperor Qianlong (1736-1795), around 1740. The diameter of this attractive plate is just over 8.5 inches (almost 22 cm).

Virtually perfect with only two 0.05-inch frits to the rim.
