Chinese Imari plate with landscape


Description
This unusual saucer dish is decorated with an attractive landscape with a central pagoda and gate surrounded by trees and mountains. The overall composition is certainly attractive. The reverse of the plate is undecorated and the rim has a light brown glaze. The decoration of this plate is typical for the wares produced during the reign of the Chinese emperor Qianlong (1736-1795). Diameter just over 8.5 inches (22 cm).

Condition
Excellent, with only a 0.15-inch chip as well as some small frits to the rim and some rubbing to the gold highlights.

Age
Qianlong, circa 1750.
