Clobbered teacup with houses

This attractive Chinese export porcelain teacup has a typical clobbered appearance. The underglaze decoration consist of simple landscape. This decoration was done in China. The teacup dates from the middle of the 18th century, around 1750. Upon arrival in the Netherlands a decoration of an additional large house as well as flowers was added in red enamels. The height of the teacup is 1.75 inches (just over 4 cm).

Excellent, with some fritting to the rim and rubbing to the clobbered highlights.
