Pair of clobbered Chinese teacups

This is an attractive pair of two Chinese export porcelain teacups. The underglaze decoration consist of simple floral spays. This decoration was done in China. The teacups date from the middle of the 18th century, around 1750. Upon arrival in the Netherlands a decoration of alternating medallions with flower baskets and landscapes was added. The result is an attractive polychrome ensemble. The height of these teacups is almost 2 inches (about 4.5 cm).

Excellent, with some fritting and a small chip to the rim. In addition, there is some wear (especially at the interior) to the enameled highlights.

Qianlong, circa 1750 (clobbering mid 18th century)
